The 21 GUNS-debut is ten years old now, but doesn't have lost anything, classical Melodic Rock of the old American school is what the band around former THIN LIZZY-guitarist Scott Gorham is providing us with. They manoeuvre balladesque waters pretty often, but that is, looking at the quality of the material on offer, not a bad thing, if you "concede" that "Salute" is a CD for the more calmer hours of life.
Covered with a typical artwork for Hugh Syme, the CD is borne by the high, but well-sounding voice of Thomas La Verdi and the very harmonic compositions. Keyboards are, contrary to many comparable albums of this style, used only in the background and to accentuate, which gives the songs a more earthy sound.
For check-out-tips take stuff like "These Eyes", "Marching In Time", "Just A Wish" or "Jungleland", genre-fans should love this album.
