Barbra released this album during the huge success of The Way We Were movie, in which the theme song of the same name became a #1 hit, as well as one of La Streisand's signature tunes. It was hastily put together, with much of the material actually being shelved recordings from a scrapped album project. As always with a Streisand album, the singing is nothing short of wonderful, and the songs, while mostly nothing too catchy or memorable, is still a pleasant way to pass the time, and help the album flow flawlessly.
