* Dead Man in Reno - Selftitled
http://b0.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/00767/02/40/767920420_l.jpg
In recent years, bands have been taking things into their own hands more so than ever in getting the word out about their music. Internet activities, particularly MySpace and Pure Volume, aiding greatly in their works to assist bands from around the globe to find and develop a nurturing audience. In the case of Tuscaloosa-based Dead Man In Reno, their unstoppable quest to reach their now sizeable fanbase is what struck the attention of AbstractSounds, imprint for Candlelight Records. Not soon after, band and label united as one.
Dead Man In Reno have played every show allowed them since their genesis three short years ago. Diehards to the core, they epitomize the blood, sweat and tears/DIY ethic. Teaming with producer Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me, Through The Eyes Of The Dead) at Basement Recording Studios in Rural Hall, North Carolina, the band meticullously laid down their self-titled debut in a quick but intense 10-day session. The results showcase the quintet's complex duel guitars, double bass drum fills, hardcore growls and screams with classic hardcore/metal breakdowns captured to perfection.
With shows booked throughout, Dead Man In Reno is sure to cross your path.

* Burden Of A Day
Burden of a Day will stake their reputation on their ability to perform. Touring through the lower 48 states as well as Europe, they've exhibited an energy and a presence seldom paralleled by even their more accomplished peers. Hailing from Sarasota, Florida - a retired people's town with a music scene as cold and unforgiving as the winters most move there to escape - they've managed to accumulate a following that keeps even their smallest shows well populated.
Formed in January of 2004, they've fast developed a natural chemistry, allowing them to constantly evolve as musicians, aiming beyond the simple, straight-forward songwriting that plagues a lot of bands in their genre. Genre is a bit of a tricky subject... When asked, they'd probably tell you Post Hardcore/ Screamo or something along those lines. Although watching them play, one might be prone to question the 'Post' part of that description. These boys are hard. Heartfelt and melodic, but not afraid to throw in a breakdown or two... which is more than occasionally. Influences include the likes of Thrice, The Bled, Refused, Thursday, Beloved, All That Remains, and many more. While staying true to the music they love and grew up with, Burden of a Day is ready and able to progress forward and pass the message on to the next generation.

Inhale Exhale - The Lost. The Sick. The Sacred.
http://i27.tinypic.com/20sdai8.jpg
Inhale Exhale is as straightforward as breathing itself. The Lost, The Sick, The Sacred, the Ohio band's Solid State debut, is refreshing in equal measure for its love of heavy diverse music as it is the depth to which it mines classic rock.
Imagine the Southern-fried sludge of Down merging with the post-hardcore angst of Refused and the snake-boogie of Velvet Revolver. Add to that formula the gutter growl of Soilwork, the song-craft of Killswitch Engage and the diversity and depth of feeling of Thrice and you might start to get the right idea.

Blessed by a Broken Heart - All is Fair In Love and War
http://www.inmusicwetrust.com/articles/images/71/k08.jpg
Canadian band Blessed By A Broken Heart is mixing 80's heavy metal like Iron Maiden, popular during the same times, new wave with modern metalcore/hardcore.
Blessed By A Broken Heart was formed in the autumn of 2002 when Tyler, Robbie, Hugh and Simon have met for their 1st practice. With arrival of Frank on drums, and later Joel on a bass the band, at last, was in full gathering. In the beginning of January 2004 they have made record of their first demo in studio B-side in Chateaguai and have received fine responses about it, and about live performances too. Later the band has acted shortly, but is effective in Cornerstone and has been instantly invited in family of Blood & Ink Records by all other bands written on this label. Their debut album "All Is Fair In Love And War" became one of the most quickly bought up in history of label.

** Across Five Aprils - A Tragedy In Progress

Across Five Aprils’ name borrowed from the late Irene Hunt Novel based around the United States civil war, proves to have a style and showmanship of a not so civil nature. Across Five Aprils - Collapse
http://www.decoymusic.com/vb/gas/images/5/acrossfiveaprils_collapse.jpg
On July 11, 2006, Across Five Aprils released their second full-length album, entitled "Collapse", also from Indianola Records. Picking up mainly where "A Tragedy In Progress" left off more than the "Living In The Moment" EP, Collapse is a hard-hitting album still full of the angst that has defined Across Five Aprils.
Editor's Notes: Not as good as their first album, but worth a listen to. I didn't bother uploading their latest album because due to the vocalist changes they've gone through since, the standard in my opinion has dropped.
