It is quite hard to download PPC+PS3 version from HTTP/FTP servers because their main mirror (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/) is down at the moment. This PS3 port is not mirrored to other servers (as far as I know). For installation instruction, please go to:

After installing with an alternate CD, you will go no further from the initramfs prompt unless you type:
/boot/vmlinux initrd=/boot/initrd.img root=/dev/sda1
at the kboot prompt.

This will get you booted into Ubuntu. A quick fix for this issue so that you don't have to type the above command to boot into Ubuntu everytime you boot is to go into a terminal session and type the following:
sudo sed -e 's/sdd1/sda1' -i /etc/kboot.conf
