Trisha Yearwood is to me one of the absolute stars in the country scene. I'm sure she lost some fans after marrying Garth Brooks but can you really blame her for going after her man? Trisha is strong, often described as a "real woman" what ever that would be. When she sings notes will fly and I bet there is nobody that could outperform her on stage! Every time she comes out with an album there is great reviews from critiques but still she does not sell like some other stars. Why is that? Maybe she is not commercial enough. Maybe she is not pop enough. I truly do not know why!
This album comes out for the Valentine's Day market 2008 and it is just about everything country music lover like me will cherish!
Trisha starts with her 1992 TOP10 single That's What I Like About You and follows with her first single from 1991 She's In Love With A Boy which soared all the way to Nr 1. Another beautiful older gem Down On My Knees sounds as fresh as 15 years ago and I'm closing my eyes and just listening to Trisha singing her heart out like she always does. Simple song I Don't Fall In Love So Easy keeps the theme and romance feel going just like it should. Whimsical If I Ain't Got You has tad faster tempo and Trisha is going up and down and you just gotta love it! The Nightingale is one of those almost Celtic feel slow ballads that sounds as great as Alison Kraus at her best. I'd love to hear them sing this one together! Then there is another Nr 1 hit from Trisha from 1995 called Thinkin' About You. Over 5 minutes long Maybe It's Love was just a must here and another TOP10 single Powerful Thing keeps you totally loving Trisha. She keeps going with 4 more enchanting ballads and closes the deal with Sweet Love so there is 14 powerful well written perfectly produced and performed romantic songs to show that Trisha Yearwood is and always has been so much more than just Mrs Garth Brooks!
